FEATURED RELEASES

EISENHOWER
(2006 Bar/None)

In Stores Now!
The SLIP have brought the epic back to rock with their new studio record EISENHOWER. Co-produced by the band and the Matthew Ellard (Elliot Smith, Billy Bragg & Wilco, Morphine) and with additional engineering by good friend and fellow Montrealien Drew Malamud (Stars, Metric, The Dears), the album showcases raw passion and accessible melodic songcraft combined - easily standing as the most cohesive and evocative work The SLIP has released thus far. It is the work of a band at it's finest: a new paradigm in wide-awake rock-realism.

>> In late 2003, the trio's non-stop touring produced ALIVELECTRIC and ALIVEACOUSTIC, a companion live set that represented the most coherent articulation of the bands' distinct sides to date. These two albums also represented the inaugural release of their own independent record label, 216 records.

ALIVELECTRIC (2003) Culled from a wide array of performances throughout the U.S. during the fall of 2002 and the summer and spring of 2003, Alivelectric is almost exclusively instrumental, and gives 216 a chance to showcase the band at its grander, more expansive and ethereal live moments. The album presents an articulated side of The SLIP much closer to Explosions in The Sky, Tortoise, electric Bill Frisell and Squarepusher albums than the dusty americana present on it's companion release.

ALIVEACOUSTIC (2003) on the other hand, presents a rustic and intimate, voyeuristic snapshot of the band performing primarily vocal tunes - unplugged, and on a rainy night at Club Helsinki in the Berkshire Mountains. Equal parts Let it Bleed, King Oliver, and 11 Golden Country Hits-era Ween, the album contains a tender honesty that carries through from tent-revival stomps to dusty lyrical psalms.

Surprise Me Mr. Davis [SIDE PROJECT]
Only In Montreal EP (SMMD - 2005)
Surprise Me Mr. Davis ventured into The Breakglass Studio in Montreal for a five-day recording blitzkrieg in early September. Taking a pure analog approach, the group tracked some of their favorite songs from the last couple years as well as a few new ones. The album is a supercharged electro-folk album with many a tender moment. Only in Montreal EP is a limited edition cd, which features five tracks from this recording session as well as a live version of the SMMD classic, "Fat King of Gods," and a bonus demo version of the new fav "Rise and Shine, Sleepyhead."

Surprise Me Mr. Davis (self-titled/2004)
Frogville Records presents Surprise Me Mr. Davis, featuring The SLIP with Nathan Moore, Aimee Curl, Jim and Bill Palmer, Daniel Moore and assorted friends. Over a dozen songs, including Back in Fifteen Minutes, Ambrosia Drunk, Poor Boy, and other original tunes. Read the story behind the album.

Live at Lupo's 6/12/04 (2004)
Kufala Recordings captured this evening of the band playing in original home town of Providence, RI. From the opening loop created to the crowd singing the lyrics to John Lennon's anthem "Imagine," this two-disc set is sure to please. The SLIP turned the evening into a night to remember.

Angels Come on Time (2002) (Rykodisc)
Recorded in a Barn and a firehouse, Angels features vocal tunes 'Sometimes True to Nothing' and 'Tinderbox' as well as favorite instrumentals 'Get Me With Fuji', NPR-staple 'Sorry', and the classic 'Nellie Jean.'

Live Is My Jumby (2001)
OUT OF PRINT / Five all instrumental tracks, and over an hour of continuous music. Features never before released songs 'Wolof,' 'Pictures of Calysto,' 'Wompsett' and 'The Lucky Dragon.'

Does (2000)
The Slip's lone release for Flying Frog Records was released in June of 2000 and contains 'Rhythm and Gold', 'So Dope' and 'Johnny's Tune.'

From the Gecko (1997)
The debut album from The Slip, released in 1997 on the band's own label, Ka Records. Contains studio versions of 'Eube' and 'Honey Melon' as well as favorite instrumentals 'Munf' and 'Cumulus.'
